I know Campbell will not recommend coaxial cable type for rock-mass deformation measurements with TDR. From what I've gleaned, low loss is better. Are there any other considerations?
Specifically, we are looking at installing coax during plug-and-abandonment of wells around 2000' deep. The coax will be grouted in place during the well P&A. I need something that can support its own weight hanging that deep, is impermeable to water with high alkalinity, and will work with TDR.
If anyone has experience or advice from similar projects I would love to hear your thoughts!
