Hi everybody!
I am going to use a PSW12 switching circuit to control a solenoid valve (a 500 mA inductive load). I am wondering whether a standard protection diode (wired in parallel to the solenoid) is necessary to protect the circuit from surge voltage at switching.

The protection circuitry built into a SW12 module is sufficient to handle the inductive spike of the solenoid.
