I am trying to configure my sierra wireless modem FXT009 as a remote modem to be placed at a worksite, to be accessed by another modem in the office to collect readings. I have the following cable connection :
D15-Male - D9-Male
FXT009 - CR800
1 - 5
2 - 4
6 - 3
7 - 9
8 - 2
9 - 1
11 - 8
12 - 7
13 - 6
In the device config i have the following settings:
Q:0 V:1 S0:000 S2:043 S3:013 S4:010 S5:008
+CR:0 +CRC:0 +CMEE:0 +CBST:0,0,1
+SPEAKER:1 +ECHO:0 &C:1 &D:2 %C:0
+IPR:115200 +ICF:3,4 +IFC:2,2
However , I am unable to connect to the modem, with the error "connect message not received", Any help? I am able to use the modem as a station modem to contact other modems but not the other way round.
If you are trying to make a CSD (dialled) connection the remote modem will need to be set to auto-answer by setting register 0 to something other than zero, try ATS0=1.
I am having issues saving the ATS0=1 setting using AT&W, when i disconnect and reconnect, the modem setting gets reverted to ATS0=0. However i do notice that my other working remote modems have ATS0=0 but do have have the issue.
Setting ATS0=1 and saving the setting should work - it is a basic function of the modem. If you have plugged this into a PC and it is registered as a modem device in Windows, I would check that Windows itself is not reconfiguring the modem - which it will often do, especially if being used as a TAPI device. Any terminal program you are using might also send commands to reinitialise the modem.
