Hi,
I have an old CR1000 with OS version CR1000.Std.08 and I wanto to upgrade its firmware to the latest one, but I cannot connect through Device Configuration Utility, I get the message error: 'An unhandled exeption occured. Press "Abort" to terminate the program, "Retry" to exit the program normally and "Ignore" to try to continue.' I can connect through PCW200 with no problems.

You do not need to "connect" to upgrade the operating system in the datalogger. Simply select the "Send OS" tab when the datalogger type is selected in devconfig and click the "Start" button after selecting the appropriate serial port.
Your Device Configuration utility likely needs to be updated.
Actually I get this error when I try to connect. The Device Configuration I am using is the latest one just downloaded from this site. Is it possible the opposite, that the logger is too old for the Device Configuration 2.14 ? Thanks
No, isnt to old, im using it to.
You could try to send it by connect screen...?
Hi to all
maybe you have the port locked to another baud rate, different from the one you are using in "decice config utility". You can try again, but use the "unknown devices" function and let the sw test at various speeds, trying to find out which device is connected.

If all you need to do is to upgrade the datalogger operating system, you do not need to click on the "Connect" button in devconfig to do so. Simply click on the "Send OS" tab and then click on the "Start" button when you have the CR1000 device type selected. Once you have updated the operating system to a more current version, I suspect that the "unhandled exception" issue will disappear.
Thanks jtrauntvein, I tried this and worked, now I have the latest OS and I can connect to the CR1000. No more errors!
